Get away from it all in Fanad
A typical weekend will look something like this: Friday evening: Arrive late in Ramelton and pick up and discuss route details, over a drink. Saturday: Aim for breakfast around 9 - 9.30, get set up with bicycles and begin the journey past the resort of Rathmullan across to the equally picturesque Mulroy Bay. There is a stop for lunch in the town of Kerrykeel. More adventurous cyclists can make the journey to Portsalon before heading west for Mulroy. Taking in the splendid scenery on the west of the peninsula, we eventually arrive back in
Ramelton, where dinner can be booked at one of the fine restaurants in the town, before trying some of the pubs or wine bars.
Sunday: We head off inland after breakfast past the town of Milford to quiet isolated country around the village of Glen. Bicycles can be left at Lough Salt, for an interesting two-hour hike up Lough Salt mountain.
After this some refreshments will be needed in the village of Glen, before cycling (or getting a lift) back to Ramelton for one last night on the town.
